F.A.Q.
Why shouldn't I just go buy a good quality router online or at a store?
Answer
This really gets at the heart of what we offer customers through our service. If you live in a city that has a low cost high-speed Wi-Fi option, you could conceivably get a router sort of comparable to ours (but slower) for $400-500. And of course you could buy a 4K Fire Stick from Amazon but you would still have 2 major problems. First, the data service you receive would not be truly unlimited. Ask them or read their printed material and you will find in the fine print that there is a cap, throttling, or extra charges and quite possibly all 3. Most of these companies lock you into a contract in the fine print as well which you cannot escape without penalty. Secondly, The Fire Stick will not give you the live channels and unlimited video on demand of movies and TV that we provide you with. To get either live TV or just one of the many video on demand service you will need to pay an additional $15-$80 per month per service and you will need at least a couple of these to have just a fraction of what we offer you. (see question below about streaming services like Netflix)
One more thought too, is that if you moved away from that city to a non-city area (remember that is 97% of the locations in the US) you would be right back where you started with- nothing. If you had our service to begin with, you just take your router with you and it will continue to work perfectly wherever you go.
If I don't have good or any cell phone service at my home, does that mean this won't work for me?
Answer
It will absolutely still work for you. Your cell phone is a very weak receiver compared to our routers. It has the strength difference like the difference between a watch battery (weak) and a car battery (strong). Your cell phone is very dependent on decent signal quality and is sensitive to disruption. Everyone knows this when you try to talk with bad reception. Our routers are designed for weak signals and will detect any sign of 4G and 5G signals to begin with and the technology forms those into very strong and consistent signals. So your cell phone is far inferior to what our router does, and therefore is not at all a good gauge of whether you can get service from us. We have thousands of customers who have little or no cell service where they are, but the router works beautifully for them.
Who do we get service through when we get Discount Unlimited Wi-fi?
Answer
When the company was founded (see Who We Are and Why We're Different) the founders realized that the big 4G LTE suppliers Verizon, Sprint (now part of T-Mobile), At&T, and T-Mobile would have to be purchased from somehow. Additionally routers do have the capability to get more than one service with the right technology. These considerations were all factored in when the router was built. Although some of the details beyond that are proprietary and are known only by our founders, the answer is that there are indeed agreements with 4G LTE and 5G producers and this allows the router to work absolutely anywhere in the U.S. People have taken our router on vacation to very remote places and (as long as they had power) plugged it in and had service! We don't know what your experience is, but that is more than we can say for any phone service we've ever had! So you get the service from us and we manage the other side of the agreement. You never have to "check coverage" with us because it works everywhere and is the only truly unlimited internet service in the US from a non-contract wireless company with a price guarantee.
Is this a legal service?
Answer
Our company has legal and financial agreements in order to offer service to customers. We do not condone nor do we participate in anything shady or underhanded. This is as legal a service as getting internet through any of the 4 major carriers.
I am somewhat familiar with Netflix. Can I get this with your service?
Answer
You already will be getting it with our service. Here is the reality of what is happening with the television industry. Cable and Satellite companies are losing customers by the millions each year. So their legalized robbery finally has some competition. That is a great thing and it's about time! However, now you have all these streaming services beyond just Netflix such as Hulu, Sling TV, Apple TV+, Amazon Prime Video, Paramount+, Disney+, Starz and HBO Max that are all trying to get a piece of the action, not to mention the major networks wanting you to pay for each of their individual services. Not only is it a confusing mess but these companies are often charging you for services that can be obtained much cheaper. And that is where we come in. We simplify this whole mess for you by offering you hundreds of live TV channels (traditional cable and more- see Our TV Technology) and giving you access to all the movies and TV available on demand through these other streaming services. Simple and much lower cost. The truth? You don't need to buy any of these streaming services at all! They are fooling people into believing there are no better options. We've seen countless YouTube Videos and articles saying that these services are necessary as well. They are not! We believe spending more than $15 a month beyond our service is a waste of money since what you are hunting for we are probably providing for you already (see questions below that may apply to some people). If you cannot find something we are an email or text away as well.
Can I watch my favorite college or pro sports teams that are outside my local market (or in my market) with your service?
Answer
Yes you sure can! There are millions of people looking for this, too. Using our apps these live sporting events from around the country are available at no additional cost. Just ask us about them when you are setting up your service.
Is this a scam? It sounds too good to be true.
Answer
We have had our website operational for over 3 years now and our staff has requested we put this on our site and hopefully put a stop to most of these kind of questions which we are still getting far too often.
Hopefully you read about how we started. We were strictly a word of mouth company and never had (and still don't have) an ad budget. This has really helped us keep our prices down. Over the years that we have been growing we have had customers in various parts of the country serve as volunteer "representatives" which helped us a lot by helping customers in person and over the phone. This was all great and seemed to work well. From time to time someone working for or with our company (like a volunteer) would get asked about a website. We would tell them we don't have one and didn't need one because everyone who buys our product has been referred by an existing customer who could already answer most of their questions. A significant number of people even saw the router the current customer had before buying their own.
However, starting around a couple years ago we started to see something new happening. People were talking about us online on social media and sometimes trying to persuade someone else to try us out. They would often send people pictures of their router or show them how much data they used in a month to make the case that our unlimited-data service was a great deal. People always asked the same question eventually which was "Do they have a website I can look at?" Their response would be no, and sometimes representatives would tell us this was discouraging sales. We always told customers to stick with telling people about it in person as a much more productive way to spread the word. And we think it still is.
Why did we not have a website back then? Because in this industry there have been far too many companies (some copying us) that have made false promises and people who have had bad experiences or know of them often jump to the conclusion that we are scam without the ability to see it for themselves. So, we knew that having a website would very likely cause far more people to contact us and ask us if "it was too good to be true?", and "are we a scam?", and we really didn't want to put our staff through that because they were (and are) already very busy as it is with people who already want to buy from us. It did not seem worth it to us at all for years. So a couple of our volunteers out there in 2020-2021 were asking us the opposite question: if we tried a website could we possibly gain even more sales even if we increase the number of people asking us if we were legitimate (making it worth it)? We debated this for several months and then finally decided to go ahead and give it a try. And sure enough we did increase sales but also increased the number of people not even asking, but insinuating (or arguing) from the start that no matter how many years we have been in operation and despite over twenty five thousand extremely satisfied customers we still must be a fraud. It is extremely annoying when we have a very honest and customer-friendly business and are accused of being crooked. It gets old. We have told customers at rare times not to buy from us because of unusual problems such as a water tower blocking their cell towers, for example, and we think this attests to our complete honesty. But we also thought these skeptical questions would die down once we had our website a year or so since word gets out fairly quickly. Well it has been over 2 years and we still have far too many people still asking us this so we had 2 choices: either take the website down or try to address it somehow. In talking to many customers that bought over the last year, we determined the website was the very reason many of them chose to buy and those same customers encouraged us not to take it down. We discussed the pros and cons for a number of weeks before deciding to try this instead. So now you can see the result of that discussion in this answer.
We want to make something very, very clear. We are not members of the Better Business Bureau. The simple reason for this is we know of at least 2 former companies that are copycats of ours who have in the past told customers to buy routers available at Best Buy or Amazon and make all kinds of promises and have left their customers without any internet service at all after going out of business, and then actually told their customers to call us to bail the customer out of their predicament! Both of these companies had A+ ratings from the Better Business Bureau. If you pay BBB they will give you this rating automatically and try to shield your business from customer complaints. Investigate for yourself and you will see we are telling the whole truth. We are not fans of BBB although many really great businesses have chosen to be members too, and we do not dispute that. In this industry BBB has been used too often for scams (some of them legal but a scam is a scam).
We have continually tried to get customers to put ratings online but very few have. However, people will send us long emails telling us how amazing they think their Wi-fi is through us but getting them to rate us online is really hard to do. So we have shared comments customers have made with us here on the website and if you are really skeptical we could put you in touch with a few of those people. Many customers have repeatedly told us to send skeptics their way.
Think about it...
But consider these questions: If we are a scam where do the routers come from? They are all custom built and we just told you the very satisfied customers listed on this website are all people you could get in touch with. So where did their routers come from? We can promise you that almost nobody has the expertise to build a router as well and as fast as we sell, especially for the price we charge. The product speaks for itself.
Also, why would we go through all the trouble of explaining how someone can get so much TV using a Fire Stick if we didn't have a legitimate way to get you an internet connection no matter where you live? Once again, any of these same people we referred to can attest to getting our exclusive manuals and tell you they can watch ESPN+, Hulu, Netflix, and Disney+ shows (and many others) with the instructions we provide. Why would we go to all the trouble of developing all that if we could not provide you better internet than anyone else in the U.S.? If you think about it, we just wouldn't do that for any reason unless we provide exactly what we say we do.
Lastly we do all our billing through Square. They are an extremely reputable company and we work with them because of that. If customers did not get what we promised they could ask for their money back just like you can with any reputable online payment processor which means we would be losing money, not making any. Square has never once had a complaint filed about us because we deliver as promised. We have additionally never had a single router returned not working. We have the best engineers and manufacturing anywhere.
We are an honest, legitimate, upstanding company. If you still don't think so write us and tell us which names of our customer comments you want to speak to and we will put you in touch with them.
